How to make white border on slide show black.

I am using Minima skin and we are putting together a demo website. I would like to have a completely black seamless background behind photos in a slide show. Many of the photos I have are rather dark and the white light from the side panels makes them hard to see. It appears that it might be done in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/flagallery-skins/minima_jn/settings/settings.xml but I am not quite sure. Can you please tell me what to change?

I have attached an example of the white part I would like to turn black.

Go to Skins page -> find Minima skin -> click “options” link -> in popup scroll bottom (drag scrollbar) to find Background Color field and change it to fit your needs -> click Save button.
