Will there be more wide layout pay it? Feel too narrow, slider and then how to change width, they can not change the layout width.

By default module width is 100% of parent element. But you can set maximum width in “Common Settings” tab (when edit gallery).
Also you can wrap shortcode with div element and set width to it via inline css. Example:

<div style="width:600px;">[gmedia id=4]</div>
