If I add a caption to an image inside a post and then view that post, resizing the browser window (or viewing on a phone) causes the images to resize only horizontally, but the height stays the same. I end up with vertically stretched out images. This does NOT happen if I add a photo from the WP Media library. Another oddity, after I add the caption, the image size in the edit window goes to full size. If I go into the text view and remove the width and height, it works.
I know that other plugins might be interfering with the display, so I will deactivating them one at a time, but I wanted to throw this out there in case anyone has see this. If I find a solution, I will post it here. You can see an example of this at http://www.lelandreport.com/2015/06/19/vol-xv-83-it-was-a-beautiful-day/
Seems like your theme have CSS rule for images: max-width: 100%; but there is no rule to set height to auto, so height will depends to width. I’ll look on what I can do and try to fix all that in next plugin version.
Thanks for your support. The developer of my Theme (Galusso – Zero Gravity) updated the image width attribute in the main css to add height:auto and that did fix the problem.
I glad the problem is solved.
