Automatically generate a thumbnail for each video uploaded by a user.

Please I would like to automatically generate a thumbnail for each video uploaded by a user.

Is it possible to achieve this? I have already tried these 2 plugins: 1. video-thumbnails 2. video-embed-thumbnail-generator

But with these installed nothing happens. Please note that I would like to allow the user to frontend upload videos. So no sources like YouTube are involved.

Does any body knows what the best way is to get this done? Either by plugin or coding?
