Local videos in Mosaic module

First I have to say I love the plugin and really appreciate all your work.

I just have one question: With the Mosaic module, I can embed videos from Youtube and Vimeo by uploading a screenshot as a thumbnail and linking to the Vimeo/Youtube URL. The videos will play in the lightbox.

I cannot do this with video files (in this case, .mp4 and .flv) stored locally on my server. They just open in a new tab and play with the browser video player, or they get downloaded. I know I can use the Video Player module, but I would prefer if there was a way to make local video files play in the lightbox with the Mosaic module.

The video files are uploaded as GMedia library items, and a screenshot is used as the Mosaic thumbnail. URL links directly to the video file.
