Media import and upload fail after 20-30 files

Greetings-
This is just the plugin I need for my timelapse feature.
Unfortunately when using import from a server based directory it will appear to hang after about 20 files. I tried using the upload feature from a local directory and it shows all the files uploaded but a check of the gallery shows only a small percentage were actually received. Is there a log somewhere which I can view to wee what is happening?
Is this a limitiation of the unpaid version? Once I get the POC done here I’ll be licensing the Slider module.

I think this is because of server setting: Max Execution Time set to 30 seconds
