Mosaic Gallery – set maximum number of columns, but maintain responsive

Hello!

Just wondering if there is a code snippet that might help me to set a maximum number of columns in a mosaic gallery, but then still be able to decrease columns automatically in responsive mode i.e. decrease to one column on a phone screen?

I would greatly appreciate any help!!
