Request: Inserting gallery as a php call

I’m intrested is it possible to insert gallery in the page as a php call and not as a shortcode?

there is wonderful function buil in wordpress:

<?php echo do_shortcode('[gmedia id=1]'); ?>

just change gmedia id to yours
