Album cover photo

Question to the developer:
In the Album edit screen there is a feature to add a cover photo to an album. As I understand, this only works for audio albums at the moment.
It would be great if it worked for photo albums as well. Then, I could set a cover photo for each album and create a new page showing showing several albums as an image in a grid and the user could click on any photo and it would take him to a new page displaying that particular album.
Any idea if this feature is in the works or considered for future upgrades?

I’m working on new module with displaying covers for albums and categories right now.
As for the moment there is only one module which use albums covers called Albums Stripes: https://codeasily.com/portfolio/gmedia-gallery-modules/stripes/
But it is not yet available in License pack and could be purchased at Envato Market: https://codecanyon.net/item/albums-stripes-gallery-module-for-gmedia-plugin/19200691
