Albums generally used for displaying galleries in widgets or if you want to order galleries in specific way and then add or remove categories without changing shortcode.
If it is not working then, probably, there is conflict with some other plugin.
Anyway, to create gallery with categories you don’t need albums… you can insert shortcode with few galleries IDs, like:
[flagallery gid=3,5,1 w=100% h=500 name=Gallery], where 3,5,1 are galleries IDs in order you need to display them.PHP settings are in server’s php.ini file. Most of PHP settings can be changed in hosting’s control panel.
probably, you did something wrong or there is javascript error on the page. I need to see gallery page, so I can tell more.
Be sure you have latest version of all modules: go to Manage Galleries.. page -> Available Modules tab -> update modules if any.

There is no way to display image in popup, but you can click FullScreen mode and in my opinion this is better than popup.
Check PHP Memory Limit, PHP Max Upload Size, PHP Max Post Size of your server. Try upload images less size. Try go to Overview page and click Reset settings button.
