you are right, progress bar it’s one-time thing for creating thumbs. If you set thumbnails size for the gallery to 120×100, than it should create thumbnail with that suffix in the end, like: imagename_120x100.jpg
All created thumbnails are placed in ‘/wp-content/grand-media/link/‘ folder.
If thumbs are created but you still see progress bar, then just clear your browser cache.To change slideshow delay go to Skins page -> click on options link of the skin -> change Slideshow Delay property and save.
To resize images go to Manage Galleries page -> select gallery checkbox -> choose Resize Images option from Actions dropdown menu and click Apply -> set size and click OK -> clear your browser cache after resizing to see changes.
Yes, you can deactivate plugin on Plugins page and all galleries and settings will be in safe (but not if you click delete plugin)I’ve recently updated Phantom Module. Go to Manage Galleries.. page -> Available Modules tab -> click Update button for Phantom Module -> clear browser cache and check if this update fix your problem.
Seems like there is no function in your theme’s footer.php file. It needs for loading plugins’ javascript files.

If everything is ok, but gallery is not working, then try temporary switch to some of default theme and if gallery will work than problem with Convergent theme.It’s could be conflict with some another plugin. Try deactivate other plugins one by one and check if it fix the problem.
Be sure that ‘/wp-content/grand-media/link/’ folder is created and it is have write permission.
If there is no link folder in ‘/wp-content/grand-media/’, create it and chmod to 755 or 777.Go to Skins page -> click on skin’s options and set Image Zoom option to FIT. Note, not all skins have that option.
Be sure that gallery contains images. Also be sure that page with gallery have no javascript errors.

Thumbnail size can be changed on Thumb Grid General tab when you edit gallery settings. After changing settings click Save on top bar. Clear browser cache to see changes. If you have some cache plugins installed – reset their cache too.
It can be conflict with some other plugin or with your theme. Try temporary disable other plugins, switch to default theme and check if it helps. If not then problem is in server configuration: folder permission or some setting in .htaccess file.
If you know how to use Chrome devtools you can check what upload.php file returns on Network tab when you uploading file.
