Which module you use on your website?
Mosaic module have option “Prevent Crop” of thumbnails. Other javascript modules can be modified via CSS to show top part of thumbnails. Flash modules can’t be modified.
Gmedia Gallery plugin doesn’t allow to set thumbnail size. It is fixed to be 300px for smaller side of image and thumbnails are never cropped. This is the perfect size for all types of displays and all modifications with thumbnails are made via module’s CSS (like cropping, resizing, blurring, etc.)
Be sure you have latest versions of modules. Check on Gmedia Modules page in admin.
In the Post/Page just click Gmedia button or Add Media button -> choose Gmedia Galleries -> select gallery you want to insert -> click Insert button.
Also you can just type gmedia shortcode with gallery id: [gmedia id=ID_OF_GALLERY_HERE]
Also if you have many images in the album, so images are on few pages on Edit Album page, You can open Screen Settings in the top right corner and set how many images to show per page.
When you do a custom order and moving thumbnails with drag and drop you can see order number in the top right field of each thumbnail. You can change number manually also. So it is important to set order to ASC if you want new added images to be first, because new images will be with order number = 0. And if you want added images be in the end of album, then set order to DESC.
I can see that Mosaic version is 1.9, but should be 2.0, so you didn’t do what I wrote in previous message.
Can you give me temporary access to Gmedia admin, so I’ll try to solve your problem?You’ll break some functionality (like editing images) if you delete originals. And probably there will be some PHP warnings in the Gmedia admin panel (I’m not sure). You can test with few images, galleries should be ok.
Ok. Try go to Gmedia Modules. -> delete Mosaic module -> click Gmedia Modules again to reload page -> install Mosaic module again.
Yes, picture will be compressed to about 250kb (±100kb), but in gallery first will be loaded thumbnails which have much less size (about 20kb) and when visitor click it the bigger image will be loaded.
Yes, Gmedia saves uploaded files in it’s own folder ‘/wp-content/grand-media/’.
Original images saved to separate folder for restoring images if you modify it via Edit Image. Also it will be used for future actions like recreate/crop thumbnails, adding/removing watermarks… Plugin automatically reduce image size proportionally to fit in 2200x2200px for web view and fill in 300x300px for thumbnails, so the largest side for big image will be 2200px and the smallest side for thumbnail will be 300px.Post link to your gallery page. Backlinks displaying only if you does not have license key and only on premium modules. Be sure that license key is saved (try remove it -> update -> fill key again -> activate). Clear your browser cache.
The problem is in WordPress Clock in your sidebar which loads old version of jquery.tools.js and that call the JS error, so Gmedia Galleries not working.
